Yoga Classes

We offer all Hatha and Ashtanga classes open to all students.

Hatha yoga classes

The ancient Hatha yoga scriptures of India give detailed descriptions of pranayama and meditation techniques, but offer only little instruction on the practice of asana. The classical asana sequences used today are actually based on oral tradition. Yoga will help improve your energy, flexibility, strength and concentration, opening your body and mind, thus improving your health and self-discipline.  Through the awakening of subtle energies, it will prepare you for the practice of pranayama and meditation.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga classes

Ashta = Eight   Anga = Limb   Yoga = Union

Ashtanga Yoga = The Eight Limbs of Yoga, the eight aspects of yoga as limbs of a tree.

This dynamic yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

Ashtanga may be used as a method of keeping physically fit, or it may constitute a pathway to explore the realms of spirituality. Whatever purpose we choose, there is only one method to reap its benefits: Practice!

All hatha and ashtanga classes are open to beginners and advanced students of all ages. Individual classes can be provided upon request.

Yoga holiday in Kovalam, Kerala can be organized upon demand, including accommodation, temple visits, sightseeing of the main places in Kerala and other activities such as Ayurveda treatments, cooking classes, etc.

Meditation

Meditation simply means the management of your thoughts. It is to have the ability to think of what you want and when you want, without interference from other thoughts. Meditation is to develop the ability to concentrate on a particular subject without being attracted and influenced by the five senses, the five vices and the five elements.

The word Yoga or meditation means ‘connection’. The mental connection between the soul and Supreme Soul or the remembrance of the Supreme Soul by the soul is called meditation.
